Anyone care to weigh in on the 7mgte and what it is wrapped in in this format? Worth the 3k?

Can't tell what "upgrades" were done on the engine, or what shape it's in, but looks like a pretty clean car.
I'd dump those cheap AR wheels first thing, though.

The main problem with the 7M is headgasket failure. This is a pretty NP, as there is one just like it (silver turbo targa top with manual transmission) in mint condition with 140k and replaced head gasket and belts for $3,500. Good cars overall, but more of a highway cruiser than anything else. I'd look into it!

I'd try to bargain a couple hundred lower since it isn't running and is pretty high mileage, but it seems pretty good otherwise, particularly since the engine was rebuilt and has some decent mods - nothing too crazy.
Although the wording is a little confusing - does the original motor have 300k km but the engine was rebuilt 120k km ago?
I like this part:

Cusco Invisible Strut Bar?
Looks like some hack job wiring for the custom stereo. Might be able to recover some money by pulling that and selling it.
Otherwise it looks to be in okay shape, especially if you fix the timing. I agree with knocking the price down to $2500 if possible, but even for $3k, it's not a complete dealbreaker. Current owner clearly doesn't know much about it.

Sh*t its already down from 5k I'll buy it if you don't. Fresh paint, fresh engine, fresh suspension, HKS gizmos and T tops I assume won't leak I will happily rock that blasting Phil Collins. He kept the 7mgte because its worth keeping.
Tho I'd feel better y'know just adding $3oo to the price for him to get the damn timing fixed himself before I pick it up
